USA Today on 1/23/11 published a story that homeopathic hcg drops products that promise dramatic results in reducing excessive body weight in obese and claim to be homeopathic are sold as homeopathic hcg drops, homeopathic hcg tablets, homeopathic hcg pellets and homeopathic hcg sprays on the Web, in drugstores and at General Nutrition Centers. These homeopathic hcg products are supposed to be used in combination with a very low-calorie diet of 500 calories a day.
I believe, homeopathic HCG drops sold in US is not a true homeopathic remedy. In order for a remedy to be true homeopathic, the medication must follow homeopathy guidelines and when B12 or amino acid is included in HCG drops, it no longer qualifies as being called homeopathic.
As per homeopathic principles, homeopathic medicines should be proved on healthy human beings to know the pathogenesis of the remedy, and these homeopathic proving symptomatology is the ultimate guide to use that homeopathic medicine to be used in diseasesd individuals.
I am sure these homeopathic hcg drops are not recognized in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of US. Moreover these homeopathic hcg products are not recognized by the US health agency FDA as a homeopathic drug, so hcg drops are an unapproved.
Because of popularity of homeopathic hcg products in US, people in India also started looking for homeopathic hcg drops, homeopathic hcg tablets, homeopathic hcg pellets and homeopathic hcg sprays in India.
Recently, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott announced agreements with several weight loss clinics and a distributor of a weight loss product in Texas requiring that the companies significantly alter their marketing. The clinics allegedly advertised chorionic gonadtrophin, a prescription hormone, for weight loss despite the fact that hCG has never been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a weight loss drug. The distributor allegedly advertised and sold a homeopathic version of hCG as a weight loss product, which is also not FDA-approved.
Biohealth of Texas LLC, which operated in at least a dozen cities in north Texas; Weight Control of Texas Inc., based in San Antonio; Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery P.A. of Houston; Dragon’s Breath Massage of Keller; and Optimum Health Care LLC of Pantego agreed to stop advertising hCG for weight loss. Professional Health Products Southwest of Arlington also agreed to stop distributing and advertising homeopathic hCG.
The FDA never approved the marketing of hCG for human weight loss and requires a black box warning on prescription labels that clearly state that it is not approved for weight loss. Although physicians are typically allowed to prescribe products for non-FDA-approved purposes, drugs cannot be advertised or marketed for a medical use unless that purpose has been approved by the FDA. As a result, weight loss clinics and physicians may not advertise hCG for weight loss because the FDA has stated that there is no substantial evidence indicating that the hormone leads to weight loss beyond that which stems from severe dieting. The drug’s FDA-approved uses are primarily for ovarian or testicular abnormalities.
These pharmaceutical companies and health clinics are tarnishing the image of homeopathy system, and finally virtue is at stake for a serious and genuine homeopathic practioner, and eventually homeopathy is blaimed. Lets unite together and come foreward to make this homeopathic system a viable genuine therapeutic system as laid down by its originator, inventor Dr. Samuel Hahnemann.
Enjoy simple homeopathy.
HOMOEOPATHY IS UNDER ATTACK FROM BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE.BUT,AS WE ALL KNOW,TRUTH MUST WIN IN THE LONG RUN.
There are uncountable so called Homoeopathic patent preparations are available in India, which are not supported by Homoeopathic Principle as written by founder of homoeopathy, making very attractive business with public, ignorant of Hahnemannian Homoeopathy. This lucrative Homoeopathic patent business is on rise day after day. Only creation of public awareness about Hahnemannian – Homoeopathic can repel such practice, for which competent & veteran teachers for proper interpretation of Homeopathic Philosophy & Organon of medicine in Homeopathic Educational System is need of the time.
