“Should we attend LIGA conference 2011 in New Delhi?” asked by some of my students. Why did they raise this question for 66th World Congress of Liga Medicorum Homoeopathica Internationalis (LMHI)?
Homeopathy
What is homeopathy?
About homeopathy, I would say that homeopathic medicine is a system of homeopathic treatment of diseased individual based on administration of homeopathic remedies in minute doses, founded by Samuel Hahnemann of Germany in 1796.
Homeopathic doctors or homeopathic physicians prescribe or dispense natural homeopathic remedies. In many research studies, it is confirmed that homeopathy cures many health problems like allergy, anxiety, acne, arthritis, sinus, depression, etc.

LIGA conference 2011 in New Delhi, India
In past 10 days, I have received many calls and sms about LIGA conference. First of all, this year LIGA conference is going to be organized in India in New Delhi. Many homeopathic doctors were still in impression that LIGA conference would be held in US, UK or some foreign country.
Sources of homeopathic potencies and dilutions
During earlier years of my practice in homeopathy, I wanted to get information about actual sources of mother tinctures prepared for further potencies and dilutions in homeopathy. In India, I wrote to some homeopathic pharmaceutical companies to get more information about my quarry. But, I could not get satisfactory reply from some of homoeopathic pharma companies here.
Homeopathy works – not acceptable to British Researchers
I believe British researchers and pharmaceutical lobby have made their mindset not to accept the efficacy of homeopathic medicines in particular and finally not accepting homeopathy system of therapeutics. In the first week of this month, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has said “Homeopathic products are ‘clearly not’ medicines and should carry labels warning that there is ‘no scientific evidence for homeopathy’ “.
Practicing evidence based homeopathy
Evidence based practice (EBP) revolves around improved patient outcomes. Health professionals use the best evidence possible to make clinical decisions for individual patients. It involves complex and conscientious decision making based on the available evidence, and also on patient characteristics, situations, and preferences.
Expert Systems in Homeopathic Softwares
System is an organization of functionally interactive units for the achievement of a common goal. All systems have inputs, outputs, and feedback, and maintain a basic level of equilibrium. For example, in the human body the heart functions to support the circulatory system, which is vital to the survival of the entire body.
NHMC CME on Skin Diseases 4 July 2009
I recieved an update regarding the NHMC CME, to be held on 4th July, Saturday, afternoon 2pm to 4pm in the college campus. This would be a discussion on Common Skin Ailments and Homoeopathy. Dr V. K. Khanna, Dr A.K. Gupta, and Dr S. Verma would be the panelists.
Spurious drugs under homeopathic label
In US, many people lost their sense of smell using Zicam nasal spray, a cold remedy they thought would be safer than other medicines because it was sold as homeopathic (!!). Zicam’s homeopathic label allowed it to be marketed for a decade without a review for safety or effectiveness by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Homeopathic products — over-the-counter remedies that use plant, mineral or animal derivatives — don’t need marketing clearance from the FDA under U.S. rules.
Homeopathic repertory softwares – Dr. Anil Singhal
Computer repertories have a significant role in homeopathic practice. I, recently, gave a comparative study of different homoeopathic softwares in Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Defence Colony, New Delhi, and Dr. B. R. Sur Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, NanakPura, New Delhi.
