There are habits we inherit in medicine that go far deeper than routine. They become part of our posture, our penmanship, our presence with the patient. They settle into us before we even realize, shaped by corridors we walked as students, by prescriptions we watched being written, by the silent culture of clinical life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

One such gesture \u2014 small, swift, but deeply symbolic \u2014 is writing \u201cRx\u201d<\/strong> at the top of every prescription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To the world, it may seem like just a symbol. But for those of us who\u2019ve practiced for years, it often becomes something more \u2014 a mark of trust, a token of responsibility, and, sometimes, without even knowing it, a quiet mirror of our hopes and fears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the story of how I came to understand that mark. How I once wrote it with unconscious expectation\u2026 and how, over time, I came to write it with freedom, faith, and purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
