Larry Lessig is talking about what Anna Hazare is talking in India about corrupting influence of money on politics &amp; corruption. I feel everyone should watch this video on the corrupting influence of money on government and policy makers. It is equally applicable to India as to America or US or USA.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Larry Lessig has a new book called Republic, Lost which discusses the corrupting influence of money on politics. I would highly recommend <a title=\"Lawrence Lessig Book\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0446576433\/anilsinghalblog-20\" target=\"_blank\">this book<\/a>, because it gets to the heart of why things so many things in Washington, D.C. seem broken today and how to fix them, and similary in India.<\/p>\n<p>Lessig explores the concept of a government responsible to the PEOPLE, as the Constitution calls for, and how the current system of campaign finance has warped it so much toward being a government responsible to the CONTRIBUTORS that even the Supreme Court used those words (in the infamous Citizens United corporation-as-a-person decision).<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ik1AK56FtVc?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Lawrence Lessig is the director of the Edmond J. Safra Foundation Center for Ethics at Harvard University, and a professor of law at Harvard Law School. Previously, he was a professor of law at Stanford Law School (where he founded Stanford&#8217;s Center for Internet and Society) and the University of Chicago Law School. Lessig clerked for Judge Richard Posner on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and Justice Antonin Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>Lessig is the author of five books on the law and technology, including Remix, Code 2.0, Free Culture, The Future of Ideas, and Code and Other Laws of Cyberspace, and has served as lead counsel in a number of important cases marking the boundaries of copyright law in a digital age, including Eldred v.
