Homoeopathic Education and Policies – Homeopathic LIGA 2011 Delhi India

Organisers of Liga homeopathy conference 2011 have planned another scientific session in 66th World Congress of Liga Medicorum Homoeopathica Internationalis (LMHI) in New Delhi, India.

The ‘Homoeopathic Education and Policies’ theme will have two sessions — B1 and B2.

B1 – Homoeopathic Education and Policies

In the B1 category experiences are envisioned to be shared on the role of homoeopathic education and policies.

The four key oral presentations in this category are:

i) the minimum standards of education and training in homoeopathic medicine agreed by the European Committee for Homoeopathy (ECH) and the LIGA and, the political situation for homoeopathy in the countries of the EU by Dr Karin Bandelin;

ii) glimpses to the history of homoeopathy since 1980 that contextualizes the current status of Homoeopathy providing distinction between fundamental long term trends and shorter political changes by Prof. Dr. Martin Dinges from Germany;

iii) the road ahead in Homoeopathy by Dr R K Manchanda; and,

iv) scenario of homoeopathy in Asia by Dr A K Seth.

Further this session is designed to promote sharing through FGDs based short oral presentations discussing: the impact of ROTPs for quality reformation of Homoeopathic teaching; impact and interplay of contemporary government policies and socio–political scenario on development of homoeopathy in West Bengal during the 19th and 20th century; and, and political scenario of homoeopathy in Canada.

B2 – Homoeopathic Education and Policies

Category B2 includes sessions on professional homoeopathic training – opportunities & challenges.

The three key oral presentations are:

i) exploring the effect of the current hostile environment on prospective students and solutions thereof by Alastair Gray. This presenter looks at the examples, evidence and the state of homoeopathic research in the schools, colleges and universities in Australia;

ii) the evolution of professional homoeopathic training via internet and by using web technologies with focus on the latest classical homoeopathy online system (the Vithoulkas Compass) by Dr. Lefteris Tapakis; and,

iii) training and teaching methodologies adopted by CCH for preparing competent and confident Homoeopathic physicians for effective healthcare under rural and urban setup by Arvind Kothe.

Further, this category has four short oral presentations:

i) the quality in homoeopathic education from India;

ii) ethics in general practise from Italy; and, one presentation each on current and the integrative problems in homoeopathy from Russia.

In addition, this category has one poster presentation focussing on comparative analysis of medical education patterns throughout the globe.
